After I got pregnant, I became severely ill. Because I required constant supervision from doctors, endless hopsital visits and blood infusions and had heart failure at her birth, I was let go from my job. In January 2022, My first bundle of joy, Esmé was born. She brought so much vibrancy and peace to our lives. My entire life was about being the very best mama to her.

After establishing Cara Moriarty Photography and welcoming my second baby, Rome,  I realized I needed to bring fuel to the fire and find what I was passionate about and who I really wanted to serve. And honestly it was a no-brainer, FAMILY! Family has and will always be my number one. That's when I took the leap to specialize in Motherhood and Family Portraits.

Because of my health issues, I had a long road to recovery. It made my traditional 9-5 job seem impossible. Plus, there was nothing more I wanted than to care for my little girl. So, I took a huge risk and put myself out there- starting photography! My husband let me practice on him many times (what a saint) and I was incredibly passionate and took every opportunity I could to learn while figuring out how to run a small business.

Now that I have found my light, I have absolutely made it a mission of mine to bring excitement, joy and vibrancy to every session I have the honor of being apart of. I want to ensure every family feels seen, cared for and loved- just like i would do for my very own family.
